Two pre-departure meetings, four weeks at international site (varied clinical settings: i.e. Guatemala rural mobile clinics with community health promotors; Ghana busy rural government hospital/clinic; Italy observing different levels of health services, etc)
Financial support:
Mostly private donations and profits from WVU Tropical Medicine course allow stipends/scholarships to cover part of students’ travel and then financial aid covers the rest
Faculty time allotted:
Individual faculty’s department specific regarding approved time off vs vacation needed
